New Build Residential Development consisting of:
6 x 2 bed apartments
1 x 1 bed penthouse
2 x 4 bed houses
(9 units in total)
In May 2010 our clients Reve Developments bought the 535sqm disused commercial site in Hackney, which borders the leafy edges of Downs Park. Reve Developments aim was to breathe life back into a derelict site that had been heavily underused as a commercial/industrial premise.
Unit One Architects were commissioned to re–instate the historic residential land usage with a modern new build scheme that would look to maximise the use from a B1 commercial workshop development to C3 residential usage. A proposal for full demolition of existing buildings and construction of 9 highly insulated new build units was sought. Please refer to the full Design and Access Report PDF (below right under the image) for further details of the design.
Full planning permission was granted by Hackney Council in January 2011 and Reve Developments successfully sold the site in May 2011. The planning enhancement resulted in a value uplift of 38% on the original purchase price of the land. The site is now complete and the units all occupied.
